WOW air’s inaugural flight to Reykjavik commences today from Cork Airport

Flavour.ie is teaming up with West Cork Eggs, Alison Kingston Health Coach and Taste Cork to deliver a new initiative to get people ditching the sugary breakfast cereals in favour of Eggsellent Breakfasts in a bid to tackle child obesity.

Cork’s Victorian Quarter is a unique historical destination offering an eclectic mix of speciality retail, hospitality and entertainment experiences. Next month, the Soul in the City Festival returns offering the best of soul music and soul food to the Victorian Quarter.

Flavour.ie is bringing back talented street food crew The Sharp Knife from Cork City for another night of amazing food in a rural West Cork pub following their hugely successful event in October 2016!

A new ‘Taste Cork’ food export programme will connect 30 local food businesses to the French and Scandinavian retail markets. It will also help to build a stronger Cork food presence in the UK market post-Brexit.

For owners and managers of established commercial food businesses in Cork City and County who are getting ready for export.

The Food Academy Start Programme is now taking expressions of interest for the next scheduled programme.

Bord Bia has provided a brief summary of the who’s who from state agencies, legal and regulatory bodies to sources of consumer and market research.

Bord Bia has prepared a paper outlining Ireland's trade with the UK and possible implications resulting from the UK's exit from the European Union.

The Food Academy Start programme works with and nurtures artisan food producers through their journey to obtaining their first retail listing with SuperValu. 'Food Academy' is currently working with over 200 producers throughout the country. The Online Application Form is now live. Applications must be received by 4pm, Monday 14th March 2016.

Taste Cork are excitedly counting down the days to the opening of the Cork Incubator Kitchens (CIK), an initiative of the Cork County Council. This initiative highlights fantastic development for Cork's food sector in supporting the growth and success of local food businesses.

Taste Cork is delighted to be bringing ten outstanding micro food enterprises from Cork to the UK Food & Drink Expo, NEC Birmingham, 18th – 20th April 2016.

Cork-based sauce company Rebel Chilli is to begin exporting to Dubai from February this year. Having re-branded the range in 2015, the company has made the huge leap from Farmer's Market to retail.

A number of new food incubator units are available for immediate let through Cork County Council's Economic Development Section. Located in Bandon and Ballincollig, these units are fully compliant with EHO standards. With extremely competitive rates, these units offer an excellent opportunity for Cork Food Producers.

Eight South Cork-based artisan food and drink producers will showcase some of the best Ireland has to offer at one of the largest gatherings of the international food industry – the biennial IFE in London.

The participating Cork companies are fully export-ready and will be the only Irish representatives at IFE 2013. They will exhibit at the event under the Taste Cork – Taste Ireland brand.

Supported by South Cork Enterprise Board and Cork County Council, the eight exhibitors will bring a taste of Cork’s finest fare to the many thousands of attendees at the event.
